Calgary Wiki

While the city of Calgary may be more commonly known as a gateway to the exceptional cycling trails found in the Canadian Rockies, there are also many top quality cycling experiences to be found within the city’s limits. With its expansive collection of natural spaces and pathways, varied terrain and enjoyable climate, cycling experiences exist for bicycle enthusiasts of all ages, interests and skill levels.

Trails and Facilities[]

In addition to Calgary's pathway infrastructure, numerous trails and cycling oriented facilities can be found.

Cross country and downhill riders will enjoy spending time at Canada Olympic Park, which is a multi-use lift assisted park found on the western edge of the city just off the Transcanada Highway. Track riders will enjoy riding at the Glenmore Velodrome found near. As well, the Calgary BMX Association opperates a BMX racing track near Blackfoot Trail.

Nose Hill Park and Fish Creek park also offer numerous crosscountry riding options of varying difficulty. However, concerns with environmental impacts from trail users have brought about usage restrictions of many of the trails in these areas.
